Racism - An Evolutionary Concept

Racism is an evolutionary concept. Charles Darwin was a racist. The word race is not found in the Bible; race is never used to describe different people groups. Human beings are created equal–in God’s image. This leaves no room for discrimination. Racism is a false idea. The outcome always leads to discrimination.

Black conservative journalist Perry Drake, in an article entitled “The Long, Sad, Violent History of Democrats’ Racial Hatred for Blacks,” writes: “In the late 19th century, Democrat governors and Democrat controlled state legislatures in the South couldn’t pass Jim Crow laws fast enough. Those Democrats created a nearly century long, legal racial caste system that relegated blacks to the lowest educational, political, economic and social strata. I have family members who grew up under Jim Crow. To hear them tell it, “it weren’t no joke.” And let us not forget that during the same period, it was Democrats throughout the United States who organized and ran America’s premier terrorist organization – the Ku Klux Klan.”

Even Jesse Jackson, Jr. confirms the same dark history of the Democratic Party. In an article published in The Nation, entitled “George Bush’s Democrats,” Jackson, Jr. writes: “The Southern Democratic Party was the party of slavery. Conservative Democrats were the Confederates during the Civil War. Democrats either were, or cooperated with, the KKK in resisting Reconstruction. Following Plessy v. Ferguson (1896), conservative Democrats practiced Jim Crow—separate and unequal. And after Brown v. Board of Education (1954), conservative Southern Democrats were the prime resisters of desegregation.”

Little wonder then that Ann Coulter compares the philosophical ideology of liberals to that of the KKK. In her book, Slander, Coulter writes: “With their infernal racial set-asides, racial quotas, and race norming, liberals share many of the Klan’s premises. The Klan sees the world in terms of race and ethnicity. So do liberals! Indeed, liberals and white supremacists are the only people left in America who are neurotically obsessed with race. Conservatives champion a colorblind society.”

We must not be advocates of so-called racial preferences because different races do not exist. Rather, we must be advocates of race preference, i.e., the human race. Racism is an evolutionary concept. The outcome of this false idea leads to discrimination. Charles Darwin was a racist. The full title of his book (publ. 1859) is: On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life. Notice the word “favored” is used to describe “races” and “favored races” are preserved. How are disfavored races preserved? Ask Hitler. Ask Margret Sanger of Planned Parenthood.

Radical leftist, prochoice presidential candidate Barry Obama attends a Chicago church whose former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., routinely refered to “white arrogance” and “the United States of White America.” The Trinity United Church bears the motto “Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian.” Wright said its doctrine reflects black liberation theology, which views the Bible, in part, as a record of the struggles of “people of color” against oppression. Wright’s interpretation of the Bible has been depicted as “Afrocentric.” It doesn’t take a white person to hear this kind of rhetoric as racism.

By association, Barry Obama has joined the ranks of this racist pastor, the wrong Rev. Wright, who associates with two of Amer-ica’s most outspoken black Baptist ministers, both dangerous bigots, namely, the Rev. Al Sharpton and the Rev. Jesse Jackson. Words have meaning and ideas have consequences. This kind of unbiblical racist attitude is the reason why the founding fathers left the “religious test” up to “we the people” at the ballot box.

The correct interpretation of the Bible is “bibliocentric,” not “raciocentric.” The Bible favors all people equally; we all struggle in our battle for bread; all are fellow image bearers, Jew and Gentile alike. America is “the United States of red, white, and blue America,” not white or black America. It seems it would be right for the right Rev. to jump into the melting pot of America and mix it up with all the red and yellow, black and white, brown and olive skin-toned Americans who call this great land of the free and home of the brave their own.

God is no respecter of persons. Jesus loves all the children of the world because love sees no color. Love knows no cost; look at the Cross. The color of a person’s skin does not determine his class as a Christian or as an American. That’s determined by what’s on the inside. We are one nation, not a divided black and white nation. “We the people” are all under a God who created all people in His image. Would the Rev. Wright think it “white arrogance” for a white church to bear the motto “Unashamedly White and Unapologetically Christian”?

From the title of his book, The Audacity of Hope, it appears for Barry Obama that the kind of hope liberal Democrats offer is risky or audacious. For conservative Republicans, hope is sure. It takes impertinent disrespect for Obama to suggest that more liberal government programs are a reason for hope in reclaiming the American dream, when it is precisely those failed liberal government programs that have systematically entrapped millions in an endless nightmare.

Leftist ideology, liberalism, and socialism are not the kind of change Americans should believe in. As history has shown, the results are always disasterous for every segment of society. Collectivism is a liberal doctrine that claims land and capital should be owned by society collectively or as a whole; which is communism. Collectivism is the natural tendency of liberalism—big government. The liberal road is paved with good intentions but that road leads to the middle of nowhere. Good intentions do not automatically produce good results. The objective of liberal programs is good but the results are regressive. Liberal programs are symbolism over substance.

Gender and race are not the isssues when it comes to electing the President of the United States. The primary issue is worldview. Racism is rooted in a Darwinian worldview. It leads to discrimination. But the ideas that all men are created equal and rights are a gift from God, not the State, are rooted in a biblical worldview. Vote! But vote in the direction that leds toward life, liberty, and the pursuit of man’s destiny. This is the path that led to America’s greatness.
